Met with Scott Refsland of Renville County Zoning this week. There had been concern about the set-back of my house to the creek. He had no problem with where I want to put the house, no further south than the old fenceline at the site. I got some homework from him, though! I need to contact the Sheriff about my 911 address, I need to contact Public Works about whether or not I will need a driveway access permit or if using the existing field approach is fine without needing a permit, I also need to fill out a site plan and pay a fee, plus get them a copy of my plans.
I also met with a banker this week and learned that I need to survey out my house site as the entire acreage will not be mortgaged, only enough for a site. (Scott recommended choosing a 5 acre site, must be the minimum size for a site in the county in case it were ever sold separate from the land), and they also need my final plans and estimates.
So I'm waiting to hear back from the Sheriff and Public Works. Then need to get the survey done and wait to hear from Kim about the plans. And Jeff was having second soils done for septic, so he'll be able to start soon on septic, trees and driveway...

Water
After 6 post holes Bob, Brian and Joe found water at 53 feet (2 gallons per minute!)
